A few independent sources have
confirmed that AMD is working hard to launch a 2.8 if not even a 3.0+ GHz
Phenom FX Quad core in 2007.
As we reported earlier, Rev B2F is the
production one and AMD can finally get the clocks at higher speeds
than the modest 2.5 GHz, so this will finally give Intel a good reason to
reconsider its roadmaps.
It will be fun to compare a 3.0 GHz Phenom FX versus a FSB1333 Yorkfield quad core at the same clock, since we think that the score will be really tight and that 3.2 GHz FSB 1600 Yorkfield actually has a very good chance against a 3.0GHz Phenom.
